Getting an innovation to a patient is the hard part, and we are rarely taught how to do it. This event will show you how.
Join RCS England's Innovation Hub and the London Institute for Healthcare Engineering (LIHE) for a day that follows HealthTech innovation through its whole life, from first spark to NHS adoption, and puts one question on trial at every stage: whose job is it to carry it forward?
Hosted in collaboration by the Royal College of Surgeons England, NIHR HealthTech Research Centre: Cardiovascular and respiratory medicine, and The London Institute for Healthcare Engineering.
The format
One innovation. Four debates.
An idea that improves patient care never travels alone - it passes through the hands of developers, funders, investors, industry and the NHS itself. At each handover, it can stall. In our four debates, expert panels will address the challenges of each stage of the journey.
By the end of the day, the room will have carried one innovation all the way to a patient – and named who carried it at every step.

Who should attend
Surgeons and clinicians with an idea or research they want to translate; engineers and academics building healthtech; funders and investors backing it; and industry and NHS teams responsible for adopting it. The debates only work with everyone in the room.
